CARE AND CLEANING OF OUR NATURAL ORGANIC WOOL, SILK, HEMP, AND ORGANIC COTTON PRODUCTS

wool filled items

hemp and organic cotton can be machine washed with hot water. we recommend our Kookaburra wool wash, or if using your own detergent, use less than the package recommends unless items is extremely dirty. Some shrinkage is to be expected, the hotter the washer and dryer  the more it can shrink. Fabric softener is optional. Do not use chlorine bleach (like Clorox).  Oxygen bleach is fine.  Pressing is optional. Hemp gets better with each wash. Organic Cotton has a natural oil that after several washes, will become more absorbent. Where absorbency is desired, fabric softener is not recommended.

hemp and silk should be treated as a delicate due to the silk content. Turn items like pillowcases inside out, and wash on delicate cycle. Not much detergent is needed. Cool water. Fabric softener optional.  Air dry.

puddle pads and mattress protectors wash as 'hemp & silk" above.

zafus and zabutons can be spot-cleaned with carpet cleaner, then vacuum. the wool fill can be removed from the zafus and the fabric washed, then re-stuff.
